So, what is Open Road Ventures?

At its core, Open Road Ventures is a newsletter, but it’s also more than that: it’s a place where I share insights, discoveries, and reflections on the evolving Innovation ecosystem, with a focus on Open Innovation and Corporate Venturing.

Will it evolve into a podcast, a consulting firm, a fund? Maybe! I’m leaving the road open to possibilities. But right now, it’s a space dedicated to those who want to understand how innovation can shape a more sustainable, dynamic, and interconnected future.

Why “Open Road Ventures”?

Because innovation is a journey, not a destination. I chose the name Open Road Ventures to represent the path ahead—an open road leading into uncharted territory, where innovation and corporate strategy merge to break new ground and reshape industries.

I believe that true progress happens when we’re willing to leave the familiar behind and embrace the unknown. This newsletter is for those with the courage to explore new ideas, the vision to see opportunities where others see obstacles, and the passion to create a better future through innovation.

The road ahead is open to those ready to challenge the status quo, to bridge the gap between corporates and startups, and to push the boundaries of what’s possible.

Who’s behind it?

I’m Davide Ritorto, a Management Engineer from Italy with an International MBA, currently working at Lamborghini. I’m also what some call an “intrapreneur”, passionate about (Open) Innovation and Corporate Venturing. My curiosity has always driven me to understand how things work and how we can make them work even better. Through Open Road Ventures, I hope to inspire and inform other innovators, intrapreneurs, and dreamers like you.

A deep dive into a promising startup, focusing on areas like automotive, luxury, and sustainability. Why focus on these? Because these areas align with my consolidated expertise. However, I'm not completely excluding ventures that may be off-topic.
